In August, Vonshae Taylor-Morales, an Instagram model and social media star who used to be married to rapper Gunplay but is now divorced, filed a restraining order against him because she said he hit her and their baby daughter while he was drunk.

Per TMZ Hip Hop, the rapper was arrested at 7:10 p.m. local time and put into the Miami Dade County Jail after the episode. For the safety of Vonshae and their eight-month-old baby Osanna, the news source also said that he would stay locked up until his next court date on November 7.

All you need to know about Gunplay’s recent violation of a restraining order

His ex-wife, Vonshae Taylor-Morales, who is 20 years younger than him, gave him a protection order after he allegedly abused her and their baby girl at his Miami home on August 20. Gunplay is from Florida.

After this happened, Gunplay was arrested by the police and later put under house arrest with a GPS-enabled ankle watch that was left on 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He recently broke his protection order, which says he can’t be 500 feet away from Vonshae and their daughter.

According to TMZ Hip Hop, the Florida Department of Corrections Community Control got a message that Gunplay had left his house and was going towards Vonshae’s. This is because people in house isolation are watched over by the department through ankle monitors.

They told the Miami Dade County Sheriff’s Office about what was going on, and they were able to catch the rapper before he could get where he was going.

Indeed, TMZ Hip Hop said that the rapper couldn’t talk to Vonshae or their child and was arrested outside of her house.

It is important to note that this wasn’t the first time Gunplay tried to break the protection order. He broke it at least seven times before, including when he tried to stop Vonshae from speaking in court in late September.

XXL Magazine says that the Triple C artist has missed three court dates so far because he broke the terms of his protection order. If he misses one more, though, he might not be able to see his daughter again until she turns 18.

Gunplay lost control of his daughter on October 9 and can only meet with her online while being watched through the TalkingParents app, as ordered by the court.

Exploring, in brief, the Gunplay-Vonshae fiasco

Dexerto says that Gunplay, whose real name is Richard Welton Morales Jr., was drinking and playing Call of Duty on his Xbox at his Miami home on the night of August 20.

He was making a lot of noise. When things got too loud, his ex-wife Vonshae Taylor-Morales kept telling him to turn down the noise because it was scaring their baby who was sleeping.

But Vonshae told the cops that this is when the Living Legend rapper reportedly lost it and attacked his wife and child, first by throwing things at them like cups and alcohol bottles and then by pulling out a gun (TMZ says it was an AK-47).

Vonshae wrote about what happened on her Instagram Story at the time, and it says that he also tried to grab the baby by the neck and head.

Gunplay told her not to leave the situation with her baby when she tried to, which she wrote about in her post. She may have been able to grab his gun and hide it before running to the police station for help.

Vonshae also said that the rapper’s “bad drinking problem” was to blame for everything that went wrong and called the experience “traumatising.” She also made it clear that he had filed for a protection order and was going to file for divorce soon.

According to XXL Magazine, Morales Jr. has been charged with many things since then, such as criminal attack with a dangerous weapon, assault, false imprisonment, and child abuse. The rapper has rejected all charges so far.

It’s interesting that the Cry Baby rapper is said to have pulled a gun on his accountant in April 2012. Later, in October 2012, he was also linked to a reported armed robbery.

He turned himself in to the police after an arrest warrant was issued for him. Both charges were dropped, though, when the victims refused to give statements.

For those who don’t know, the pair who had broken up got married in August 2022 and had their first child in February 2023.
